Growing up with entrepreneur parents who moved to America from Central America when they were kids, I learned the value of hard work and innovation early on. My parents didn’t have college degrees or even know the language when they started their journey, but they built a life from the ground up. My dad would always tell me, “Look at what we have created. We did this without college degrees or even knowing the language. Use your brain and take advantage that you are here in America and that you know two languages. Your opportunities are endless. Make sure you work smart and not hard like me.”
These words became a cornerstone of my mindset. I took them to heart and embarked on my entrepreneurial journey. It all started as a hobby in high school, cutting grass for my neighbors. The money I earned allowed me to buy gadgets and clothes that boosted my confidence. This small business taught me valuable lessons in responsibility, customer service, and financial management.
Working in my family’s business further shaped my entrepreneurial mindset. I absorbed everything I could from my parents, learning the importance of innovation, taking risks, and creating value. Eventually, I took the leap and went full-time as a personal trainer in the fitness industry. Opening my own gym was a monumental step, and navigating it through the pandemic taught me resilience and adaptability. I learned how to create real value for my clients and customers, honing my skills as an entrepreneur.
Now, I dedicate my time to making the lives of other entrepreneurs easier. I help them understand what it means to be an entrepreneur and the skills needed to be successful without burning out. Conversations with entrepreneurs fuel me—they’re some of the most energetic, passionate, and driven people I know. These interactions remind me of my childhood, filled with dreams of what the future could hold.
Tips for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
