“You're so much stronger than your excuses.” ―Unknown.

In this post I will be discussing a different perspective on how you should approach your health and fitness journey. Over the years my perspective on training, exercising, working out, torture, whatever you want to call it, has changed. I've gone from focusing on losing weight, building muscle, getting stronger, to work smarter not harder. Now days I train for the life that I want to live. This is how its helped me and hopefully it can help you too because no one wants to live a life slaving over dropping a number on a scale.

8 Reasons

Here are 8 good reasons to start training for the life you want, not just the one you have now! 👊

  1. See Clearly

We all want to lose weight. It could be a lot or a little, but let's think about how life will be after losing weight. Imagine this: Can you go hiking with your family? Can you carry your kids upstairs without getting tired or hurting your knee? Think about being strong even when you're older.

  2. Think About Yourself

Sometimes it's hard to know what we really want. That's okay. Imagine your life in the future. It's more than just looking fit. It's about having a healthy life, no matter how old you are. Our bodies can do amazing things when we take care of them.

  3. Make a Plan for Challenges

There will be times when things don't go well. It's normal. I've had tough times too. But I always have a plan to get back on track. If I gain weight, I know I need to make changes. It's like being a detective, figuring out what's different. Having a plan helps me stay on course, even when I feel like giving up.

  4. Think Ahead

Remember, this is a long journey, not a quick race. It's about making changes that last. Do you want to keep losing weight every year or do it once and stay healthy forever? I tried losing weight many times before I realized I needed a better plan. Thinking long-term helped me treat my body better and find balance with my favorite foods.

  5. Learn New Things

It's okay if you have lots of questions. I did too when I started. I've learned a lot about health and fitness. Whether you're new to this or know a bit, there's always something more to learn. It's like exploring a new world. If you're unsure, ask for help, like joining a community.

  6. Get Better Results

When you're curious and learn, you'll do better. You'll know how your body works and what helps. Here's how: Ask a question, find answers, try them, see what works, and keep doing it. This helps you reach your goals and know what to do when things change. It's a lot of work, but it's better than being sick or paying hospital bills.

  7. Progress, Not Perfection

Don't aim for perfection. This journey is about trying things and learning. Start small, learn step by step, and see what works for you. Everyone's different, so take your time. As you see little wins, you'll feel great and keep going.

  8. Keep Going

Repeat these steps again and again. Doing things over and over makes you better. Also, having friends with similar goals helps a lot. I'm sure you'll succeed.
